White House Building
The old State Secretary’s Office (White House), located on Jalan Dato’ Hamzah, was first built in 1912 by Arthur Benison Hubback. The building has an elongated shape with projecting wings and features classic British architectural elements. It is now owned by the Negeri Sembilan State Government.
Previously, this building served as the Office of the Chief Minister of Negeri Sembilan and the State Secretary’s Office in the 1950s. The Chief Minister occupied a modest room in the middle of the upper floor, assisted by, among others, a Private Secretary, a stenographer, and an Office Administrator. The building also housed the Seremban High Court and the State Council (State Legislative Assembly).
