Mercu Tanda Za’ba

The Za’ba Landmark, located at Simpang 4, Bandar Seri Jempol, is a symbolic monument built to commemorate and honour a national icon, Tan Sri Zainal Abidin bin Ahmad (Za’ba). Its construction serves as a mark of respect and pride by the people of Jempol for Za’ba’s extraordinary contributions to the Malay language, intellectual thought, and education.

Positioned at a key junction connecting Bahau, Batu Kikir, Rompin, and Seri Jempol, this landmark stands tall as a prominent icon identifying Bandar Seri Jempol. Its modern design, rich with cultural heritage elements, reflects Za’ba’s stature as a classical Malay thinker with visionary and progressive ideals.

Besides serving as a point of reference for visitors entering the district, the structure also represents the intellectual identity of Jempol District, complementing the presence of Teratak Za’ba in Batu Kikir—Za’ba’s birthplace and a site preserving his legacy.

The Za’ba Landmark at Simpang 4 not only enhances the city’s landscape but also stands as a symbol of unity between history, culture, and modern development in Jempol. It is a significant effort to preserve the memory of a national figure, ensuring his legacy remains known and appreciated by future generations.
