Tok Saih Hill

Located in Kampung Air Gelugor, Gemencheh, Bukit Tok Saih rises to about 243 meters above sea level. It is a popular spot for outdoor enthusiasts and hikers seeking a moderate challenge.
The name “Tok Saih” is believed to originate from local traditions. In the past, villagers would install a ‘maling’ (windmill) at the peak of the hill after harvesting crops like paddy. The ‘maling’ served not only as a wind direction indicator but also symbolized success and blessings from the harvest. This cultural tradition gives Bukit Tok Saih a unique historical significance.
Along the hiking trail, hikers can spot wild-growing herbal plants like tongkat ali. These plants add ecological and traditional medicinal value to the area.
Bukit Tok Saih also hosts various community programs. For example, on 1 May 2024, the Tampin District Information Office organized the “Jiwa Madani Tok Saih Expedition Program,” which attracted over 100 participants of all ages. The program aimed to promote healthy recreation and foster community unity.
There are several hiking routes to the summit of Bukit Tok Saih, including:
Route 1: A 1.64 km trail with a 57-meter elevation. However, access to the peak may be limited due to construction areas.
Route 2: A 3.18 km trail with a 146-meter elevation. This route offers a moderate challenge and scenic views.
Route 3: A 3.69 km trail with a 118-meter elevation. Ideal for those looking for a longer hiking experience.
